Congratulations to the foreign language faculty whose students took part in the poetry competition last Thursday at William Paterson University. Eight students earned recognition for their recitations: Zoe Winburn, 3rd place, Japanese Advanced; Julia Reingold, Honorable Mention, French Advanced; Delphine McCann, 3rd place, German Beg.; Leah Epstein, 3rd place, German Intermediate; Masha Trifonova, Honorable Mention, ESL Beginner; Nourah Alkhunaini, 1st place, Arabic Native; Mark Mazel, 2nd place Spanish Beg.; Pooja Desai, Honorable Mention, Spanish Intermediate.
REMINDER
Only returning students with a signed contract for 2010-2011 will receive summer reading books.

Monday, May 31 Memorial Day. School closed.
Tuesday, June 1 8:30 a.m. -9:30 a.m. 8th GRADE GRADUATION REHEARSAL. Mandatory. Do not be late!
Wednesday, June 2-Monday, June 7 Final exams. Students will receive a schedule shortly.
Friday, June 4 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Phantom Tollbooth, presented by 5th grade.
Saturday, June 5 7:00 Music and Art Festival, 299 Pavonia Ave. JC An adult affair, sponsored by the Parents’ Association. Wine and Bring a guest! $30 per person, or $50 per couple. We need high school student volunteers & alumni to help host.

Tuesday, June 8 8:30-Noon Mini-courses (grades 5-8) and the Amazing Race, a special high school event 1:00-4:00 p.m. Senior Class Initiative presentations.
Wednesday, June 9 8:30-3:00 p.m. All-school Field Day, beginning with Hudson Bowl Quiz at Burchard Hall, 6th and River Streets, Stevens Institute of Technology 4:00-6:00 p.m. Senior Initiative presentations.
Thursday, June 10 All-school trip to Lake Hopatcong with new students. Bus reservations required. $20 to cover cost of chartered buses plus signed permission CARDS. Please return cards which were mailed home last week in envelope provided.
Friday, June 11 8:30- Noon Awards and Student Recognition, Grades 5-12. At the Community Church of Hoboken, 6th and Garden Streets.
Saturday, June 12 7:00-10:00 p.m. 8th Grade graduation party. 6-7 p.m. Parents’ farewell cocktail party.
Sunday, June 13 2:00 p.m. 8th grade graduation; 7:00 p.m. 12th grade graduation.
